Description
What Is Gallium Metal?
Gallium metal (element Ga, atomic number 31) is a soft, silvery-white metal with an unusually low melting point. In fact, the gallium melting point is just 29.76 °C. As a result, solid gallium turns into liquid gallium slightly above room temperature and then stays liquid over a very wide temperature range. For this reason, gallium is the starting point for many materials in electronics, alloys and research.
However, elemental gallium is not the same material as gallium oxide (Ga2O3), gallium arsenide (GaAs) or gallium nitride (GaN). Instead, those are separate compounds with their own properties and specifications. Manufacturers make them from gallium metal, but gallium metal cannot replace them.
Our pure gallium is a 4N grade with 99.99% minimum gallium content. In addition, the COA limits each impurity at the ppm level. Therefore, it suits buyers who need documented, high purity gallium metal rather than a hobby-grade sample.

Certificate of Analysis Specifications
The values below come directly from the product’s Certificate of Analysis. Also, note that we express impurity limits in parts per million by weight (ppm wt).
Key Features
Uses & Applications
Industry uses gallium both as a metal and as a starting material for gallium compounds. The applications below show where gallium and gallium-containing materials typically appear. However, you should always check the COA against your own process requirements before you choose this 4N grade.
Specialized Alloys
Gallium forms low-melting alloys with indium and tin, such as Galinstan-type and eutectic gallium-indium alloys, that stay liquid at room temperature:
Semiconductor Materials
Gallium is a constituent of compound semiconductors. However, these are separate materials, and wafer-grade production usually calls for higher-purity gallium than 4N:
Optoelectronics
Similarly, gallium-containing compounds power many light-emitting and light-sensing devices:
Chemical Synthesis
Gallium metal is also a feedstock for preparing gallium compounds and precursors:
Advanced Materials Development
Researchers also use gallium as an alloying addition and in functional materials:
Laboratory & Industrial Research
Because of its low melting point, gallium is a practical material for experimental work:
